Public transport

Travel time from T-Centralen is approximately 20 minutes.



Take the metro to Ropsten, then bus 201, 204, 205, 206, 211 or 212 to Torsviks Torg. From there it is about a 7-minute walk to Millesgården. Follow the signs. A slightly shorter walk can be achieved by getting off at Torsviks Torg, walking about 200 metres to Stjärnvägen and changing to bus 238, which stops at Millesgården.



The Lidingö Light Rail (Line 21) runs from Ropsten to Torsvik or Baggeby. Millesgården is located between these two stops. From Torsvik station there are steep hills and many stairs, while the route from Baggeby station is flat. From both stations it is about a 7-minute walk to Millesgården.

Parking

Free parking for cars and buses is available opposite the main entrance on Herserudsvägen.

Bus parking is available outside the museum.

For children and families

Bring the children and discover the art in the Art Gallery, search for angels in the sculpture park, take a Milles quiz or meet Carl and Olga Milles, ancient gods and many different animals through Millesgården’s children’s trail.

Free activity booklets suitable for children aged 5–12 are available at reception.



Practical information

Strollers – should be parked in the covered area just outside the main entrance. Strollers are permitted on the Lower Terrace, but the other terraces have many stairs.

Changing tables – available near restrooms in three locations: in the Art Gallery, between Lanthandeln and Anne’s House, and near the Artist’s Home.

Baby carriers – three baby carriers are available to borrow at reception.



Accessibility

The Art Gallery, built in 1999, is accessibility adapted and includes accessible restrooms, an elevator and ramps. The Sculpture Park is built on terraced levels and is unfortunately not fully accessible. Due to many stairs it can be difficult to access for visitors with mobility impairments, wheelchairs and larger strollers. The same applies to the Artist’s Home, including the Large Studio and the Antique Collection. Some terraces can be accessed via Herserudsvägen and Carl Millesväg with assistance from museum staff. Strollers – can be parked in the covered area outside the main entrance. Strollers are allowed on the Lower Terrace only.

Accessible restrooms and changing tables – available in three locations: in the Art Gallery, between Lanthandeln and Anne’s House, and outside the Artist’s Home.

Wheelchairs – three wheelchairs are available to borrow at reception (subject to availability).

FAQ



Can I bring my own food?

- Yes, you are welcome to enjoy your own food in the park. Please avoid glass containers and make sure to dispose of your rubbish in the bins provided.



Does Millesgården have a restaurant?

- Yes, Millesgården Lanthandel has both a restaurant and a café. Visit their website here.



Where are the restrooms and cloakroom?

- A cloakroom with lockers is located on the lower level of the Art Gallery. Restrooms are located in three places: in the Art Gallery, between Lanthandeln and Anne’s House, and near the Artist’s Home.



Where can I store my bag?

- Lockers are available in the cloakroom on the lower level of the Art Gallery.



Can I bring a stroller into the museum?

- Strollers are allowed on the Lower Terrace. Due to stairs they are not permitted on other terraces. During busy periods, strollers may need to be parked outside the main entrance.



Is there a baby changing room?

- Changing tables are available near restrooms in three locations: in the Art Gallery, between Lanthandeln and Anne’s House, and near the Artist’s Home.



Can I bring my dog?

- Dogs are not permitted within the museum areas (Art Gallery, Sculpture Park, Artist’s Home). Dogs are allowed on the Lanthandel terrace. Guide dogs are permitted.



Can I take photos in the museum?

- Photography for private use is permitted.



Do you have Wi-Fi?

- Yes, please ask at reception for login details.



Where can I find lost property?

- Lost items are handed in at reception.



What are the museum shop opening hours?

- The shop has the same opening hours as the museum: Tuesday–Sunday 11:00–17:00. You do not need an admission ticket to visit the shop.
