Information to all teachers
Welcome to Millesgården.
We are happy that you have chosen to visit Millesgården. In this brief text we would like to inform you that Millesgården, although a place of great beauty, can be a place of great danger, for the careless. Before you begin your tour, please inform your pupils the following:
For security reasons it is absolutely forbidden to climb at Millesgården. It is forbidden to climb on the sculptures, in the trees or on the railings. It is strictly forbidden to climb or sit on the wall on the Lower Terrace. On the other side of the wall there is a precipice of some 20 metres onto the cliffs. In other words, it is a fatal drop.
At Millesgården one can touch the outdoor sculptures. They are made of bronze and not too delicate. However, the sculptures indoors are made of plaster or marble and are very sensitive. Please do not touch the sculptures indoors.
It is better to walk rather than to run at Millesgården. Carl Milles had the terraces and the stairs paved in stone. The stone slabs are not entirely even so it is easy to trip if you run.
We have nice flowers and bushes at Millesgården and it may be tempting to pick a bunch, but if everyone were to follow suit there would soon be no vegetation left at Millesgården. Please ask your pupils to look and admire instead.
We hope you enjoy your visit to Millesgården.
