Magnus Wallin
Instrument

12 September - 8 November 2009

The exhibition Instrument shows a number of new works from Magnus Wallin, including two 3-D animated film productions, Colony and Mission.
The works discuss the existence of humankind and its opportunities and limitations with regard to society's creation of power and rule systems. The main characters in the animations are figures based on x-ray images, luminous skeleton images where the individual is portrayed as enclosed in a rational system.
The story takes on the form of a meeting in a dark tale of humankind?s aspirations, ideals and vulnerability.

Magnus Wallin was born in 1965, lives and works in Malmö and was trained at Kunstakademiet in Copenhagen. His works have been exhibited internationally in a number of locations, and his 3-D productions include Exit (1997), Exercise Parade (2001) and Anatomic Flop (2003).
